NEI Welcomes Inclusion of Clean-Energy Provisions in Climate Bill OK’d by House
The U.S. House of Representatives today approved the American Clean Energy and Security Act of 2009 (H.R. 2454). The legislation establishes a Clean Energy Deployment Administration and makes a number of improvements to the clean-energy loan guarantee program authorized by the 2005 Energy Policy Act.

House Appropriations Panel Improves Funding Levels for Some Nuclear Energy Programs

U.S. Senate Panel Recognizes Nuclear Energy’s Strategic Value to Energy, Climate Change Policy
The Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee today passed an amendment to the Energy Policy Act of 2005 that recognizes the strategic importance of nuclear energy to America’s supply of carbon-free electricity.
