Nuclear Energy Institute Elects Progress Energy’s William Johnson to Executive Committee

WASHINGTON—The Nuclear Energy Institute (NEI) has elected William D. Johnson, chairman, president and chief executive officer of Progress Energy, to its executive committee to fill the unexpired term of Robert B. McGehee, who passed away last month. Mr. Johnson assumed a position on the NEI board of directors on October 12, effective with his election as chairman of Progress Energy.

All U.S. nuclear plant licensees and selected representatives of other companies involved in nuclear technologies are members of the NEI board of directors. The executive committee sets broad policy for the nuclear industry.
